Jens Schmidt-Bürgel is Geschäftsführer (Managing Director) of Moody’s Deutschland and Country Manager for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In this role he oversees the outreach activities in these countries and acts as senior point of contact to issuers and other market participants. He is also the Head EU-27 focusing on the strategic direction and oversight of Moody’s Investor Service (MIS) 8 offices in the region. In this capacity Jens works closely with the local Country Managers in each of EU-27 offices and is responsible for promoting the Moody's brand, establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key capital market participants, associations, regulators and government officials. Prior to joining Moody’s in 2015, Jens was a Managing Director at Fitch Ratings in Frankfurt and as country head responsible for business and relationship management in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He also oversaw Fitch’s operations in Warsaw and the representative office in Stockholm. Jens holds a dual degree in European Business Administration from ESB Reutlingen and Middlesex University Business School. In addition, he has an Executive MBA from WHU-Otto Beisheim School of Management and Kellogg School of Management. |

Kathrin joined Moody’s Investors Service in April 2010 as a member of the Sovereign Risk Group. She is the lead analyst for several European sovereigns, including France, Italy, Spain and Greece as well as European Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) such as the EIB and the EIF. She is also Moody’s global coordinator for all of Moody’s MDB ratings.
Prior to joining Moody’s Kathrin was a Director with Merrill Lynch, working as Sovereign Ratings Advisor to governments and banks in emerging markets. Prior to that, she was Chief Economist for Deutsche Bank in Spain.
She holds a M.Sc. in Economics, Latin American Politics, Spanish and Portuguese languages from the University of Tuebingen as well as a post-graduate economics degree from the College of Europe, Bruges.

Alexander Hendricks is an Associate Managing Director in Moody’s European Banking team. Alexander has responsibility for the analytical teams covering financial institutions in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He joined Moody’s in 2013.
Prior to Moody’s, Alexander’s most recent role was Director in Company Research at Deutsche Bank, where he had responsibility for financial institutions in Germany and Austria, and co-responsibility for European investment banks. In addition, he acted as hub for European regulatory matters in research.
During his occupation at the German bank, Alexander also held responsibilities for real estate companies and stock exchanges in Germany. At previous employer ABN Amro, Alexander covered German and Austrian banks in equity research. He began his career as trainee at Deutsche Bank.
Alexander holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration (Diplom- Kaufmann) from University of Mannheim, with specialisation in Banking and Finance. He is a CFA charterholder.

Christian is a Vice President - Senior Analyst in the EMEA Insurance Team based in Frankfurt, Germany, and is the lead analyst for various primary insurers and reinsurers in the Benelux countries, Germany, Italy, the Nordics and Switzerland. Christian joined Moody’s in 2019. Prior to joining Moody’s, he was head of planning and performance management at Zurich Group Germany where he was in charge of planning, forecasting and reporting for the group’s German life insurance operations. Before that, he was a director and lead analyst at S&P Global, covering insurers in EMEA with a focus on companies operating in German-speaking countries. He started his career at Assekurata, where he specialized in assessing the investment management of rated insurers in Germany. Christian holds a degree in Business Administration from University of Cologne. |

Martin has more than 20 years capital markets experience as a credit and equity analyst in Europe and the Middle East. Based in Frankfurt, he is currently lead analyst for a portfolio of chemical companies and is the EMEA sector coordinator. His assignments at Moody’s include a secondment in Dubai from 2008 till 2015 where he covered corporates and government-related issuers from the Middle East, Turkey and Africa spanning many sectors including oil and gas, investment holding companies, real estate, utilities and telecoms. Martin was content lead for Moody’s conferences in the CEE region from 2015-2020. Since joining Moody’s in 2004 he has been involved in rating assignments for investment grade and high yield credits as well as Islamic Finance transactions. Among his primary coverage in Europe were the manufacturing, packaging, paper and forest products sectors. Martin holds a diploma in economics with a concentration in finance and econometrics & statistics from the University of Konstanz, Germany. |
