Alastair Wilson is a Managing Director and Head of Moody’s Sovereign Risk Group. In this capacity, he leads Moody’s global team of sovereign risk analysts, with responsibility for maintaining the quality of Moody’s sovereign ratings and for the analytical leadership Moody’s aims to provide to investors and issuers through its research.
Until August 2014, Alastair was Chief Credit Officer in EMEA, responsible for the quality and consistency of Moody’s credit standards and methodologies across all franchises within the region. He joined Moody’s in September 2010 following twenty-one years at the Bank of England. At the Bank, he worked in a variety of roles in banking supervision, FX and reserves management, banking operations and financial stability.
Alastair graduated from St John’s College, Oxford University in 1988, having studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics. He is based in London.

Atsi Sheth is a Managing Director in Moody’s Credit Strategy and Research team. She serves as the Chief Credit Officer for the Americas. Prior to this, she was Managing Director in Moody’s Sovereign Risk Group, responsible for the teams covering the Americas, Asia Pacific and Middle East. Before rejoining Moody’s in 2011, she was Chief Economist at Reliance Capital. During Atsi’s previous tenure at Moody’s from 1997 to 2007, she worked in the Credit Policy and Sovereign Risk groups, covering countries in Asia, Africa and Europe.
Atsi has taught International Political Economy and Emerging Markets at Columbia University in New York, and has been associated with non-profit agencies in micro finance and housing. Atsi has a PhD from Northwestern University and a B.A. from Bombay University.

Carmen M. Reinhart is the Vice President and Chief Economist of the World Bank Group. Assuming this role on June 15, 2020, Reinhart provides thought leadership for the institution at an unprecedented time of crisis. She also manages the Bank’s Development Economics Department.
Reinhart’s areas of expertise are in international finance, and macroeconomics. Her work has helped to inform the understanding of financial crises in both advanced economies and emerging markets. She has published extensively on capital flows, exchange rate policy, banking and sovereign debt crises, and contagion.
She comes to this position on public service leave from Harvard Kennedy School where she is the Minos A. Zombanakis Professor of the International Financial System. Previously, she was the Dennis Weatherstone Senior Fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics and Professor of Economics and Director of the Center for International Economics at the University of Maryland.
During her career, Reinhart has worked in numerous roles to address policy challenges including most recently, the coronavirus pandemic and its economic impact. She serves in the Advisory Panels of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and the International Monetary Fund. Earlier, she was the Senior Policy Advisor and Deputy Director of the Research Department at the International Monetary Fund and held positions as Chief Economist and Vice President at the investment bank Bear Stearns.

Marie Diron heads the Sovereign Risk Group for Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa, and Sub-Sovereign Risk Group for Asia Pacific and EMEA. She is responsible for analytical teams covering more than 70 sovereign ratings, 15 Multilateral Development Banks and around 400 sub-sovereign ratings in about 30 countries.
Marie has worked as Moody’s lead sovereign analyst for a number of Asia Pacific credits, including China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, India, Sri Lanka and Australia. Marie has also worked in Moody’s Credit Policy, leading a number of macroeconomic analyses, including our regular Global Macro Outlook and other credit research work.
Marie was previously Director at Oxford Economics, leading the company’s forecasting and scenario analysis service to financial sector and corporate clients, after a number of years at the European Central Bank and Brevan Howard LLP. Marie received a MPhil in Economics from the University of Cambridge and graduated from the Ecole Centrale Paris.

Matt Robinson manages the Sovereign Risk Group’s Middle East and Africa team producing ratings and research regarding sovereign and supranational creditworthiness in Sub-Saharan Africa and Middle East/North Africa. He is responsible for managing staff located in London, Frankfurt, Dubai and New York.
Matt joined Moody’s in 2007 after a decade of macroeconomic and public policy experience. Prior to managing the Middle East and Africa sovereign ratings team, Matt was the Director of Sovereign Research, responsible for coordinating and contributing to the research produced by Moody’s global team of sovereign risk analysts. Matt previously managed the affairs of the Moody’s Economy.com Sydney office, providing independent economic analysis, data and forecasting and credit risk services to Moody’s Analytics’ worldwide client base. Before joining Moody’s, Matt worked as an economist and policy adviser in a number of public and private sector organisations, including Commonwealth Treasury and the Economic Division of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet in Australia.
Matt received his bachelor of economics from the University of Newcastle(Australia) and his graduate degree from the Australian National University.

Dietmar Hornung, Associate Managing Director, leads the Sovereign Risk Group’s European team, covering the European countries and the European supranationals. Prior to his appointment as team leader, Dietmar was Moody’s lead analyst on a number of European sovereign credits, including Germany, France, Italy, Ireland, Russia, EU, EFSF and ESM.
Before joining Moody’s in 2007, Dietmar was Head of Emerging Market Research for DekaBank in Frankfurt.
Dietmar holds a Doctorate summa cum laude in Economics from Otto-von-Guericke University in Magdeburg. He received a Masters degree from Christian-Albrechts University in Kiel after studies in Kiel, at the University of Miami, and at the Eberhard-Karls University in Tübingen.
Dietmar is a Certified EFFAS Financial Analyst (CEFA).

Mauro has been with Moody’s Sovereign Risk Group since 1996. He is currentlyAssociate Managing Director for the Americas responsible for sovereign ratings inLatin America, the Caribbean, US and Canada. Mauro is also responsible for ratings of multilateral banks in the region.
Prior to joining Moody’s, he was Managing Director for Latin America at WhartonEconometrics (WEFA) in Philadelphia. Mauro completed graduate studies at theUniversity of Wisconsin in the areas of International Finance and Econometrics.
He did his undergraduate studies -- major in Economics -- at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (I.T.E.S.M.) in Mexico.

Lucie is the lead analyst for several Sub-Saharan African sovereigns and supranational issuers and is a senior member of Moody’s Africa Sovereign Ratings team. Prior to January 2015, she covered a variety of advanced and emerging market European sovereign credits, having joined the Sovereign Risk Group in early 2011 from Moody’s Sub-Sovereign Group.
Prior to joining Moody’s in 2007, Lucie spent two years at the French Ministry of Finance in the Forecast division, responsible for projections and analyses of France’s government finances.
Lucie holds a postgraduate degree in Probability and Statistics from a French Engineering School (ENSAI) and a Master’s degree in Economics from the Panthéon-Sorbonne University in Paris.
